On April 27th, 2016 Friedrich Goldmann would have turned 75. Macro is celebrating the composer’s anniversary with a luxury Box Set CD edition of the complete trios since 1986 and his singular oboe quartet (2000). Two of the recordings were produced by Goldmann himself, and all feature musicians with a long-term working relationship and deep expertise in the composer’s oeuvre, such as Ingo Goritzki, Björn Lehmann, members of Ensemble Mosaik and KNM. The CD is accompanied by a 48 page booklet featuring extensive essays by Björn Gottstein (artistic director of Donaueschingen Festival) and musicologist Bruno Santos, exploring Goldmann’s groundbreaking aesthetics.
